Films of Hitchcock, Part 2: 19
(OLLI Class and Events)

In this follow-up to “The Films of Alfred Hitchcock 1942–1963,” we’ll look at six more Hitchcock classics: Foreign Correspondent, Shadow of a Doubt, Notorious, Rope, Strangers on a Train and Vertigo. What were Hitchcock’s recurrent themes? Why was he a master of effects as well as suspense? What special challenge did he give himself with Rope? Which of these six films did he claim as his personal favorite? Alfred Hitchcock tantalized, thrilled, and terrified us for decades, all the while reminding us “It’s only a movie.”
